Jeffrey Siljenberg was born in Woodstock, Illinois to an engineer and a corporate secretary in 1979. He grew up in the small town of Byron, Minnesotta where he was given the unique chance to take classes in art and video production.
In his senior year of high school he received several local scholarships after winning a video competition at the Minnesota State Fair. He took those scholarships with him to Columbia College in Chicago where he started his formal study in filmmaking.
After receiving his BA at Columbia he was accepted in to the MFA Cinematography program at the American Film Institute. He graduated in 2005 and has since continued working in film in Los Angeles. He recently finished shooting his first feature.
