Until the day she walked out of her job at Walt Disney Toons and onto the set, she had been in the animation industry. With a background in theatre, (both musical and dramatic) as well as art, Carole was part of Disney’s stable of storyboard artists. Her work can be found in Disney’s “Legend of Tarzan,” “Mickey, Donald and Goofy and the Three Musketeers,” “Jungle Book 2,” as well as several other sequels with a 2’s after that. Eventually she was given the opportunity to write and head up story on the short film “Donald’s Gift,” as part of the “Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas” (that also was a 2 with the two cleverly disguised in the title). After working on “Tinkerbell: North of Neverland,” (the 2nd in the Tinkerbell franchise) she stepped out in faith, and found her passion in live action film directing. Witt’s Daughter marks the debut for her production company--Crowded Metro Films.
As a writer and director, her favorite characters are the ones who’re filled with integrity, or those who wrestle with gaining it. Weather its a large story or a simple and intimate one, I tend to gravitate to themes of redemption, and striving for emotional connection. I focus on the noble and bittersweet in characters. That's why she founded Crowded Metro films, to tell stories that appeal to me. Her ideas in development span the range from suspense and trial to quirky romance. Because of her animation background, she's also am very attentive to beautiful and evocative visuals that transport the audience to different times and places.
Carole Holliday is currently in development on her next live action feature, with several projects in her back pocket.
